Through an intelligent approach, leveraging local materials such as stone and wood and the use of sun as main source of energy, it has been possible to design and build family houses in the Swiss Alps with an exceptionally low environmental footprint.

The total energy consumption for all the family household requirements including heating in winter and cooling in summer is less than 2.5 kWh; this represents a 70% reduction in energy consumption compared with similar family houses in the same region.
