EQO Project was invited by the Paramount Chief of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, to visit the Volta Region in the Republic of Ghana to perform a first examination of 8 sites with prospects for smal hydroelectric power plants.
The sites were recommended by a feasibility study developed by the Ghanaian government to improve the production of renewable energy.
EQO Project was asked to
- estimate the potential annual power generation in kWh
- compile general criteria for the realization of the power plants
- evaluate the project impact on environment and landscape
- rate the potential development of the hydrologic cycle in respect of drinking water supply and wastewater management.
A visit report was hand in to the Ghanaian partners and a continuative survey by EQO Project of the potential sites is planned for March 2015.
